FAQ

At Range Physical Therapy LLC, we believe in providing our clients with the best possible care. Here are some answers to questions you may have:

Q: What is an out-of-network provider?

A: Range Physical Therapy operates as an out-of-network provider meaning we do not hold contracts with insurance companies and we do not file insurance claims for our clients.

Q: Can I submit my bill to insurance myself?

A: Yes! Your bill will have all of the information needed to submit for reimbursement from your insurance company (except Medicare - See Question 4 below for explanation). This type of bill, from an out-of-network provider, is called a superbill. You may be able to get some reimbursement for the cost of your session(s) depending on your insurance. Usually, you can submit your bill online through your insurance company's website. Please call your insurance company to see how they want you to submit your superbill if you are unsure how. I will help provide any other information you may need. We do not make contact with any insurance companies directly and reimbursement via out-of-network bill submission is not guaranteed. Whether or not you will get reimbursement for your session depends on your specific insurance plan and if they cover out-of-network bills. .

Q: Why doesn't Range Physical Therapy submit my bill to insurance for me?

A: Our physical therapy model does not follow the norm of in-network, insurance based, physical therapy clinics. This allows us to provide you with the best possible care!

  •  In the insurance based PT model, a physical therapist must treat multiple patients per hour. We understand that it takes longer than 30 minutes to make optimal progress toward your goals. Rather, we find that an hour of 1 on 1 treatment allows time to be thorough, answer questions, and ensure that progress toward your personal goals are made!

  • With the insurance based model, you may see a different physical therapist or assistant each visit. Research has proven that continuity of care will result in you achieving a better outcome. With Range physical therapy you will see the same provider every visit.

  • The insurance based model may come with a copay each session and out of pocket payment for each session toward deductible. With Range Physical Therapy, there are no Copays and just 1 set visit price due at the end of each session.

Q: If I have Medicare can I be seen?

A: Unfortunately, no, we can not accept Medicare patients. We do not participate as a Medicare provider. There are some particular rules within the Medicare system that disallow us from accepting cash/credit/debit/check/HSA from Medicare beneficiaries. The federal law we are referring to is called the Social Security Act's Mandatory Claims Submission rule. The rule makes it illegal, under federal law, for a physical therapist to collect direct payment from a Medicare beneficiary for any service that is covered by Medicare. Because of this rule, out-of-network physical therapy providers, like Range Physical Therapy, are unable to collect payment from anyone with Medicare insurance.

Q: If I have Medicare can I be seen at all?

Yes, you can be seen for a wellness visit with a focus on exercise and/or sport performance.

Q: How can I have a session at my home?

A: After setting up your appointment via text/call/email/online booking I will come to your home at the agreed upon time with all equipment necessary for a safe + effective physical therapy session. Please have an open area that can fit a therapy table, and your wifi password handy. Prior to your first session click the PDF link on my homepage, download the consent to treat and medical history form, complete forms and print prior to your first session to save time. Looking forward to working with you!
